I'm on my way." Kyla's fingers moved quickly over the PADD, entering in the last few bits of data, before she turned to head out of engineering. She enjoyed the random requests other crewmembers had for her. It got her away from the all too familiar walls of engineering, and the ever redundant scans and system checks. When Kyla had reached Shuttle Bay 2 and the doors slid open, she did not immediately see H'Chir. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw movement, and made her approach. "Sir. What can I do for you?" H'Chir obviously had not heard her enter, for he looked up in mild surprise at the sound of her voice. She just smiled down at him and awaited his response. (Reply H'Chir) (USS Spectre, Shuttlebay 2 - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 1611) "Sir? What can I do for you?" H'Chir looked up in mild surprise. In turning his mind to the task at hand, he'd almost forgotten asking the Assistant Chief Engineer to join him in his work on the shuttlecraft. Taking his head out of the belly of one shuttle, he stood up, taking care to dust himself down, and addressed her, "Ahh, Ensign! Excellent! The Captain needs both these craft ready for action asap, and I thought it would give us some time away from the office to. relax." He beamed at her reaction and the pair of them set to work. (Reply Angeletti if desired, none) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre, Shuttlebay 2 - ACEO, Kyla Angeletti - 1613) "Ahh, Ensign! Excellent! The Captain needs both these craft ready for action asap, and I thought it would give us some time away from the office to... relax." Kyla quirked an eyebrow. "Relax, uh? Well then let's get to the relaxing!" Kyla laughed and when H'Chir had finished briefing her on the modifications that were to be made, she moved over to a shuttle and began to "relax." (Reply none, any) (Posted by Sondra) (USS Spectre, Shuttlebay 2 - ACEO, Kyla Angeletti - 1832) =/\=All senior officers to the Bridge.=/\= Kyla raised an eyebrow and looked over at H'Chir who looked as confused as she felt. "I guess you'd better get down to Engineering. We've made good progress here, and it shouldn't take too much more to finish the job later. Besides, there's no telling what's gone wrong now." "Yes. We haven't got too much more to do." With that, Kyla turned to leave as H'Chir headed toward the door. She made her way back to engineering and made sure everything was as it should be, all the while a slight anticipation that something may go wrong at any moment. (Reply H'Chir) (Posted by Sondra) Stardate: 2407.01.17 Day: 5 (Betazed, Forested Base Camp - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 0340) H'Chir listened to the Marine's report to the Captain; the area was clear but it wasn't advisable for them to hang around too long. Closing his eyes, H'Chir listened to the Captain's reply and tried to sense anything in the world around them. It was quite an eerie change from the buzz and hum of a starship, but he was relieved to sense nothing beyond the members of the away team and some trace signatures of the local wildlife. ~Nothing dangerous. yet. Perhaps I should make my move.~ Tuning back into the conversation, H'Chir heard the Captain give the order for Lieutenant Colonel Krige to lead them out, away from the shuttle and on with their mission. (Reply Remae, Krige, Tahlmari, any on away team) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Palomino, Hanger Bay 2 - First Officer T'Vhor & Crewman Blake - 0445) "Ensign, what is it exactly that you are bringing us today?" said Lt Blake, the Palomino crewman that had just seemed to step from nowhere. After stepping up into the Evangeline, T'Vhor paused & looked back over his shoulder at the man who had just spoken to him. Then he stepped back down onto the deck, pushing his holdall into the shuttle interior as he did so. "Medical supplies plus an order placed by engineering for a new flux limiter & diagnostic sensor array", said T'Vhor impassionately. "Apparently you are having problems with your warp engine diagnostic equipment", he added. The crewman quirked an eyebrow in response. Clearly he was not entirely convinced by what T'Vhor had fed him. "I haven't seen you before, your new aren't you", said Blake. "New sir?" said T'Vhor questioningly, "I have done this run before, you however were not here on the times I did so", he added. "Perhaps you would like to check the supplies", said T'Vhor on noticing the Lieutenants interest in the containers placed to the rear of the Evangeline. Blake walked towards the boxes in response to the FO's remark, his attention remaining on T'Vhor as he did. "These are dangerous times, perhaps I should do just that", said Blake. "Be my guest Lieutenant", said T'Vhor motioning to the containers with his hand as he spoke. T'Vhor looked briefly around the hanger deck as the man crouched down to turn the hasp lock on the side of the first container, there were no other's in sight now as he moved to the now curious Palomino officer now already in the process of lifting the lid on the first box. By this time however, the FO was behind the man as he looked into the empty container, in an instance Blake turned to look up at T'Vhor, a look of confusion in his eyes as he did. "Medical supplies....what medical supplies", said Blake moving to stand, "what's going on here?" he added reaching up to his communicator. The FO of course was upon him in an instance, he took his hand quickly & effortlessly before it could even touch the communicator, then he brought it swiftly around to the mans back, stepping around him as he did so & reaching up towards his neck with his free hand to deliver a classic Vulcan neck pinch to render him unconscious in an instance. Blake's weight immediately worked with Newtonian physics as he collapsed rather predictably onto the floor, supported by the FO as he did so. T'Vhor looked about again to ensure that nobody had witnessed what had just happened, then he quickly dragged the inert Lieutenant to a nearby storage locker to deposit him within it. With the inquisitive Blake now out of the picture, T'Vhor boarded the Evangeline once again, picking up the holdall & depositing it into storage before closing the doors & initiating engine start-up. He then contacted Ops to request clearance to disembark. "This is shuttle four requesting launch clearance from hanger bay two", said the FO. =/\=Stand by=/\= "Shuttle four standing by for clearance", said T'Vhor in his usual calm Vulcan response. The minutes ticked slowly by as T'Vhor sat awaiting clearance to disembark, all manner of possibilities entering his mind as they did. Had they discovered his true reason for being there, had someone seen him deal with Blake? Lost in those thoughts however, he was momentarily startled when the comms crackled into life once again. =/\=Shuttle four, you are cleared to launch, safe journey=/\= T'Vhor breathed a sigh of relief as the warning klaxons began sounding in accompaniment to the orange beacons now flashing at the four quadrants of the already opening hanger bay doors. He wasted no time however in bringing the shuttles engines fully online to begin his departure. Within seconds the Evangeline was space bound once again & heading off now on a direct course to Betazed & whatever would soon greet his arrival. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (Shuttle Evangeline - First Officer T'Vhor - 0500) The Evangeline's course through the starships amassed in the area around Betazed had gone pretty much without hitch, with the registry transmission tying in with the known registries of the supply shuttles feeding the fleet, it was probably a forgone conclusion anyway. By the time he had hit planet fall though, the Evangeline was already passively scanning for the transponder signal of the Don Quixote, it didn't take long for it's sensors to lock onto it, the computer alerting the FO to the facts the moment it had done so. [Don Quixote located - it is currently situated in a wooded area at grid reference 45 degrees north, 62 degrees west - no life signs present] That last report caused T'Vhor to immediately sit up & take notice. "Computer, scan for life signs & crew implantations within a three mile radius of the Don Quixote" [Scanning - Implant signals detected - current heading south by south west, eight implants detected] "Lay in a tangential course to the implant signals", said T'Vhor. [Course plotted & laid in] "Initiate course correction to current plotted course", said T'Vhor & the Evangeline immediately began it's decent through the upper atmosphere of Betazed & down into the turbulent lower levels where it quickly became buffeted by the fast winds in that area. "Compensate for turbulence, maintain current heading", said T'Vhor. The computer simply beeped to report that it had corrected as ordered whilst T'Vhor struggled with the controls to keep the shuttle level. Then, as it finally broke through the turbulence, the Evangeline's flight path smoothed out whilst T'Vhor took the shuttle as low as was possible to avoid any ground radar that might be scanning the area. A proximity alert quickly sounded on the master console indicating a signal directly ahead & T'Vhor took the controls again for a manual approach & landing at a point about one quarter kilometre west of the Don Quixote's location. With the engines shut down, T'Vhor wasted no time at all in gathering up some essential equipment along with a suitable jacket to combat the morning chill. He then left the shuttle & headed off South to find the Captains away team. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (Betazed, Forest - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 0515) The four men moved as stealthily as they could manage through the dense forests of Betazed. H'Chir wasn't entirely sure where they were headed, and they'd spent most of the journey so far in silence; each man alone with his thoughts and the sounds of the jungle around them. Assuming an estimated average speed, he'd calculated the distance they'd covered so far, and was in the process of turning his attention to how much longer before the reached a major city. A twig snapped underfoot. H'Chir winced in momentary pain and confusion, and then felt himself flattened as a powerful presence rose up inside him. He watched in horror as his own arm brought his pulse rifle to bear on the Colonel's BDU. He fired at the knee, watching the powerful creature crashing to the ground on his side. Even as he turned to run, the back of his mind was calculating how long before the suit would repair. Too long. ~Help!~ (Reply any) (Posted by Michael Drake) (Betazed, Forest - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 0516) ~Now!~ The largest threat already down, H'Chir ran but continued firing behind him. The exhilaration of being released after so long lurking at the back of the Engineer's mind burst through him in a surge of adrenaline that sent him hurtling through the forest, a blur of athletic grace. Unable to resist the temptation he flicked his comms unit on, addressing the entire away team: "He's not dead, Captain," flecks of saliva flying from his mouth as he spat out the words as though they'd been dipped in venom, "but your ship is. Plenty of things a guy can do when he's Chief Engineer on a starship. even from the shadows. in the stolen moments. And now, Captain, catch me if you can!" (Reply any on away team, if desired) The Andorian laughed bitterly before cutting the channel. His mind was focussed on the starship above, on revenge, on the death and destruction he would bring. Unable to control himself he shouted, "Free at least!" and continued running, laughing maniacally as he went. (Reply any on away team) (Posted by Michael Drake) (Betazed Woodlands - First Officer T'Vhor - 0610) The First Officer had been travelling now for over an hour following the course indicated by his tricorder towards the away team's current location. He had made good time & estimated that he would reach them now in a little over twenty minutes at his current speed & heading. With this in mind, he stopped briefly next to a verdant area which provided adequate & suitable cover from any forces that might be nearby in order to recheck his readings. Then he set off again continuing his prior course of south with a minor correction of four degrees west until he had reached an area indicating that he was finally nearing his goal. Their target of course was an outpost on the perimeter of a city, the glow of which could now be seen in the distance to indicate its closeness. For a brief moment, the FO thought back to times when he had moved through woods such as these on Bajor, it was not dissimilar at all, the only thing missing now of course being the almost constant aerial bombardment & weapons fire of the advancing Cardassians as they attempted to take the land forcibly from those that dared to oppose them. It seemed so quiet here now though, but that wasn't to last long at all for the moment the thought had crossed his mind, was precisely the moment he heard the phaser fire! Immediately he took cover & drew his own phaser from its holster, scanning towards the source of the phaser emanations as he did so. It was still dark of course & the weapons discharge had lit up the area from whence it had come, a sure indication of where the FO would need to be heading now. Moving quickly, he sprinted towards the source of the skirmish identifying certain voices now as he heard them up ahead. It was clearly the away team but who were they firing at? Stopping at the top of a mound to reconnoitre, T'Vhor drew out his binoculars & crouched down to scan the area ahead of him. The device of course had already switched to night vision & it's ranging & targeting systems were actively picking out the individual away team members as he looked through them. One of them however had broken off from the main group & was now heading north. It was unclear at first who it was but it appeared that he was engaged in firing back at his own away team as he fled. T'Vhor lowered the binoculars briefly, puzzled at what it was that he was seeing, then once the phaser fire had ceased & its source was out of range, he headed down towards the remaining team members, curiosity foremost in his mind now. In seconds the FO was in visible range of them & Krige was on him in an instance, his superior awareness having already picked out his approach long before any of the others did. (Reply Krige) T'Vhor lowered his pace to a stroll upon the Lieutenant Colonels words, then he looked about at each of the away team members, subconsciously attempting to ascertain who it was that was missing as he returned his phaser to its holster. It seemed however that they were all present. "Who was it that was running off?" said T'Vhor. (Reply Krige, Any on team) "H'Chir, I don't understand, he was not part of the away team", said T'Vhor quizzically. (Reply Krige, Any on team) The knowledge of this had taken the First Officer by surprise. H'Chir had betrayed them? Why had he done this? T'Vhor thought back briefly to his behaviour on board the Spectre, then he thought about the time he had spoken to him in the turbolift about their Saboteur problem. ~H'Chir was the saboteur?~ The thought didn't sit well with T'Vhor at all, why on earth would a long serving, high ranking officer suddenly betray his crew, was he working alone or with others? T'Vhor put aside the thoughts for now, it was illogical to address any of the possibilities at this time, they had work to do. Turning to the main group now, the First Officer picked out the Captain & headed towards him. "The Palomino mission was a success sir", said T'Vhor, "I have the required jewel from the crown", he added. (Reply CO, Any on team) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Observation Lounge - ACEO, Kyla Angeletti - 0704) Kyla was seated and watching her fellow crewmen still left aboard the Spectre as they sporadically entered the observation lounge. As usual, the call for her to leave engineering had come whilst she was busy with something, and she had quickly finished up what she could and headed out. The last few people sauntered in and took up seats, the Banowsky began to speak. "Well then folks, it seems like for the time being we are in charge of the Spectre. Us lower ranked officers, from Lieutenant Senior Grade, such as our Security Chief, to Ensign Junior Grade, such as Mr. Fisher, and Mr. Morris. However that is not to say we all aren't good officers. In fact I trust my life, and this ship with all of you assembled here. Which is one of the reasons I assembled you all, to know that I have the utmost confidence in all of you, and to see whether or not you have confidence in me, which I hope." Kyla hoped that they had not been dragged here for an inspirational speech only. Yeah, it was nice that he was showing confidence, and she understood that someone may really need this boost in confidence. But, all Angeletti could think about was the work she had been pulled away from, and how she already knew what to expect, so no one needed to explain it to her. Will then sat down again. "Moving to business, it seems our saboteur may have struck again, as the transponders among our away team have been tampered with. This also sadly took our Chief Engineer of the Spectre and onto the Don Quixote with Captain Remae's away team. Therefore for the time being, Ensign Angeletti, you will act as Chief Engineer until H'Chir's return. Is that Understood?" "Understood, sir." Kyla nodded her head and in her mind she sighed in relief, as inspiration was not the only reason she was here. "Good, I also want the cloaking device off limits to anyone except myself, Lt. Vasilyovna, yourself, and two engineering officers that I have chosen, Chief Petty Officer M'Rurrh, and Ensign Junior Grade Grant Archie. This is just for added security. I hope that is acceptable?" "That is fine, sir." She nodded once again, a slight smile on her face. Lt. Banowsky addressed others around the table, then came back to Kyla. "Lt. Nollys, Lt. Williams, I would like you to help with both Mr. Morris, and our "detectives" with their tasks, using your scientific and medical expertise. Especially help with Mr. Morris since you two helped designed the transponders. Ensign Angeletti, you are free to help Ensign Morris as well, however I would like you to take an added level of observance on the cloaking device. If that were to fail, we would be dead in the water." "I understand, sir. I'll monitor it closely," said Angeletti. It made her slightly nervous to have such a responsibility. That cloaking device meant the difference between life and death for the entire crew. The mission itself relied heavily on it. Angeletti knew what she was doing, and that helped to steady her nerves. "Alright then all are dismissed except for Lt. Williams." With Banowsky's dismissal, Kyla stood and walked out of the lounge. Once outside, in the corridor, she let out an audible sigh and looked up at the ceiling. Her mind was not at ease. She exhibited a cool and calm exterior, but inside she was tense, her mind was racing. Her main concern was possibility of a situation arising that would be beyond her or anyone else's control. All she and her fellow crewmember's could do was hope for the best and work hard to make sure that nothing went wrong. (Reply none, any) (Posted by Sondra) (USS Spectre, Bridge - ACSO, Lt. Spinning around in her chair to face Williams, she said, "Well my first idea would be that we go somewhere more private like sickbay, as opposed to the bridge, so we can get some work done," she said in a sarcastic manor. Cracking a smile, she hoped Williams wasn't thinking she was being demanding or being mean about it, she was just joking, trying to lighten things up. "Okay then where shall we start first." "Shall we?" She said, getting up and gesturing to the turbolift. "Besides, I can think better without all these people around," she said. Folding her arms across her chest, what was becoming her thinking/peeved trademark stance, she still focused on the data, thoughts running wild through her mind. Since she was in the science department, part of her luxery didn't include engineering, so she couldn't begin to say certain areas to look for in that aspect. Still searching, she heard Williams say, "I can't see anything wrong with the data can you?" "Not so far, but..." she paused, then said, "Hey, what is this?" Pointing on her computer screen, it looked like it may have just been a computer glitch, though she wasn't sure. (Reply Williams) Shrugging it off, she said, "Just making sure. I'm not shoure how long its going to be until engineering is going to be able to send some one down so those who are one duble check the equipment and those who are off go and get some rest but be shoure to be able to return at a moments notice." (USS Spectre, Security Station Beta - 0900) Crewman Michael Townsend was sitting quietly at security station beta minding his own business. He wasn't on the team searching for the sabatuer who had struck twice this morning. He didn't mind though, he had more time to relax this way. Or so he thought, as he was somehow going to solve the case...or at least that's what someone wanted him to do. For in Crewman Townsend isn't the key character in this little scene, rather an unknown body, with an unknown face, with an all too familiar smile on it is. Someone, or something who isn't even present, who currently was sitting at a station somewhere on the ship pretending to do the job he was ordered to do, while planning what to do next on the job he really wanted to do...but that isn't the focal point of the scene. No, not what happens next, but rather what happens now. For as Townsend was sitting quietly in his little chair, a frantic young ensign came running by with a PADD in his hand, that would sadly damn an officer whom he trusted. The ensign arrived to Townsend, handed the PADD and as Townsend read it over, asked the ensign if it was accurate...and for all the ensign could see it was, made things a little bit sadder for the already distressed crew. "Security Station Beta to Lt. Vasilyovna." (Reply Vasilyovna) "Sir, an Ensign Richter, an operations officer, has just discovered a PADD in shuttle bay 1, that is very unsettling. It gives a detail account of what the saboteur has planned, how he executed what he did, what is orders are, why he did it, and who it is." (Reply Vasilyovna) "Well sir," this part became hard to say "Sir, according to this PADD, but it may be a forgery, but according to this it is Lt. Banowsky!" "Who does it name?" said Yelena. =/\=Well sir, according to this PADD...it may be a forgery, but according to this it is Lt. Banowsky!=/\= Yelena paused at the Ensign's words..... It had quite obviously been exactly what the TAC/SC, had been thinking, a ruse, a red herring left to misslead them.....a rather stupid red herring granted but it did show one thing about their saboteur & that was that he was perhaps becoming desperate now, may'be they were even closer to him now than they thought. "Bring the PADD to security", said Yelena abruptly, "allow nobody else to see it & come straight to me", she added. Then she tapped at her combadge again to open a second communication. I can't use anyting. All I have is equipment from the 21 centuary because some one at starfleet medical thought it would be a laugh~ Andrew sighed. he was feeling a headacke begining. he did not usally get headackes. This was because he was able to give him self something but using hypospray was out of the question. ~How am I going to look after the crew with this old equipment. If we have a major medical emergancy I'm totaly stuffed~ He begane to massage his temples which usally helpped but for once did not. he crossed over to the replicator. "Water ice cold." He took a deep breath as he pulled out his weapons, now fully recharged with all the necessary power-packs stuffed into his combat-harness. He'd already run diagnostics on them, they were all functional. He grabbed the scatter-gun first, a slightly bulky weapon that acted like a shot-gun and fired 50 compressed mini-beams at once. Absolutely deadly at short-range, like in a corridor, though not very effective past 100 meters. It could clear an entire corridor in two shots, no matter how many people were stuffed into it. He snapped it on, and it spent a couple seconds audibly charging up. He safed it charged and laid it gently down. His modified type-3 was next, this with a long-range scope attached. This was what he slung for a main-weapon anywhere but close quarters. Like any phaser rifle, it was high powered (albeit modified for higher heat-exchange rate then your typical phaser). On a sniper setting, it was positively devastating. His sidearm was already charged, he'd been carrying it with him since he got aboard. It only required a moment to check. His two combat knives in inverted sheaths on his armour, and dozen photon grenades, also checked out perfectly. ... he was as ready as he could be, given the less-then-optimal circumstances. It was with regret that he closed his eyes and changed his form back to a small humanoid. He enjoyed his natural shape, this small one felt so... confining. He quickly stepped into his new uniform before strapping on all the armour he wore, the full EVO/C. By the time he was done, he was a walking tank; all his weapons were strapped or secured at some hard-point along the armour. In full EVO/C, he could survive for hours in any environment that didn't destroy the suit, including vacuum. He could take multiple phaser blasts without destroying the integrity of his suit; he could lift most of a ton without effort. It was... invigorating. He grabbed his Pallas Battle Helmet and put it under his arm, he wouldn't attach it until he had too... he'd already spent ages in it. "This should be fun," he muttered to himself. (USS Spectre, Main Shuttle Bay - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 0255) A lot of the crew were waiting in the cargo bay as the two prepped shuttles were sitting there waiting for them, Remae was going to take one and the other was going to be the one taken by T'Vhor. The Spectre herself was underway, heading for the first drop off point where Remae's shuttle would be dropped off. The second point would be the second shuttle's departure point. Remae's team was getting into the shuttle and preparing it for departure, the CO looked around at his FO and 2O. "Good hunting Mr T'Vhor. Mr Banowsky, take good care of the Spectre until I get back, don't get caught!" said Remae as he shook the hand of each before getting into the shuttle's pilot's seat. (Reply from T'Vhor and Banowsky) The doors closed on the shuttle and the main hangar doors opened, the Spectre was backed onto a moon, close to Betazed. that gave the shuttle the best chance of making it to Betazed undetected. Quietly, the shuttle lifted off and headed out of the shuttlebay, it was already set for shadow operations and its power signature was low, very low. (Shuttle One - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 0305) The shuttle was in very close orbit of the moon, so close, that it grazed the atmosphere a few times, shaking the occupants. "Sorry about that. okay, I think we're ready," said Remae to no-one in particular and he pointed the nose of the shuttle towards the planet and he pressed a button. The shuttle accelerated hard towards the planet for less than 5 seconds before it all went quiet, the lights dimmed and the power was sent to minimum levels. Betazed led off in quite a different direction than the one they were heading, but a few moments later, the gravity of the moon took them and flung them at a sharp angle, throwing them onto an exact course for Betazed, a lot quicker than they were going. (Shuttle One, Rear Compartment - Col Krige - 0305) "Sorry about that. okay, I think we're ready." Krige looked over at the pilot sourly before shaking his head. He slid the helmet over quickly as the note of the shuttle began to turn and quickly snapped it into place, fully locking his atmosphere. The shuttle could fall apart now, and it wouldn't matter much to him. .. not until it landed in pieces, anyway. He held onto his phaser rifle lightly, his eyes closed, as the shuttle bumped and swerved around him. He'd been part of many combat drops; something like this wasn't going to worry him particularly. If they died, they died. Eventually the shuttle came to a stop, Krige almost felt sorry for anyone who might end up space-sick. He was on his feet half a moment after the engines cut down and the Captain said, "Everyone out." He paused only long enough for Ktell to say, "Colonel, see if anyone is about while I get everyone out of here." "Sir!" he said, and he was gone. He popped out into the lightly wooded area and bolted at full speed for the cover of the trees. Nothing registered on his tac-corder, but that didn't mean someone wasn't using electronic camouflage. It was an interesting game, Intel and Counter-Intel. As a scout he knew the tricks, and he knew how they could be used against him. Krige carefully threaded himself through the trees, pausing now and again to listen for strange sounds or wait to see if someone 'blinked'. He also continued passive scanning in the area. All he found were animals, small ones, most of the big-game wouldn't be found this close to civilization. And civilization was close, but not to close. At least the Captain had some sense about that... putting a shuttle down in town scare would have been noticeable by the resistance, but also by other authorities. At the closest approach to his arc to the town, he opened up his short-burst communications and sent a very short recognition signal, along with some coordinates, to a specific frequency. It was one of a rotating set used by the resistance in this area (assuming they hadn't been crushed) and would be met within 12 hours if all went well. With that done, he went off to continue his circuit. (USS Spectre, Transporter Room 4 - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 0305) Setting himself at a run, H'Chir tapped his comm.-badge, "H'Chir to Banowsky. We have to stop the launch!" Huffing and puffing, perhaps a little more than he should, H'Chir added: "No time to explain; tampered with transponders; sabotage; got to save the mission." He didn't wait for the Spectre's acting captain to respond. Instead he hammered his finger over the transporter console and took what might be his last look at the USS Spectre. (USS Spectre, Shuttle Evangeline - First Officer T'Vhor - 0305) With the Don Quixote now away & headed for Betazed, T'Vhor requested & obtained clearance from Ops to disembark on shuttle two. Then, having obtained that clearance, he raised the shuttles controls to bring it a few feet off the decking in preparation for leaving. The warning klaxons were sounding already as the Evangeline moved away along the yellow nav markers & then smoothly exited space doors into the cold inky void of space. From that point on, he was on his own, as were the occupants of the Don Quixote. Each shuttle had been ordered to maintain radio silence now, no communication to be made with the Spectre at all for fear of giving away its position. As the Evangeline turned about onto its pre-programmed heading however, T'Vhor watched briefly from the window as the rather strange vista of the Spectres hanger bay doors closing again made a bizarre image indeed with no ship sitting around it. Once it had vanished from sight though, T'Vhor turned his attention to the forward screen once again, entering commands into the flight computer as he did so. "Computer, bring the registry transmission module back online - Transmit modified codes as per recognised Starfleet protocol", said T'Vhor. [Confirmed registry transmission module is online & functional] "Come to heading three nine five mark one four, three quarter impulse", said T'Vhor. [Heading Confirmed & set] The FO then sat back into his seat & watched as the ships of Doenitz's fleet appeared ahead of him in the distance, small at first but growing larger with every passing second. At a range of 1000kms a beacon came on the console of the Evangeline to indicate that the registry database had been remotely accessed, a short beep after that confirmed that it had been authenticated as planned & the shuttle then veered about to continue on in towards the newly targeted ship that had now centred in the forward viewscreen. The USS Palomino was an Oberth class research science ship & as such would have less security awareness than the big destroyers elsewhere. It was part of the reason the FO had chosen it, the other reason being the wealth of tactical info that would be contained within its database files once he'd accessed & retrieved them. As the distance between the Evangeline & the Palomino closed, the inevitable communication from the vessel itself came in. =/\=Palomino Ops to approaching shuttle, please respond=/\= T'Vhor opened up a comms channel & responded calmly & in line with the already monitored communications surveillance they had received whilst onboard the Spectre. "This is supply shuttle four on route with essential equipment requesting permission to dock", said T'Vhor. The Comms went silent just for a while as the Palomino Ops officer checked things out, then he responded again. =/\=Palomino to shuttle four, you are cleared to dock, proceed to hangerbay two=/\= T'Vhor took a deep breath as the ruse was accepted & then he reconfigured the Evangeline's flight computer to intercept the ILS coming from the Palomino, once he'd done that, the shuttle was on auto. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (Shuttlecraft Don Quixote - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 0306) H'Chir didn't waste time dealing with the surprised looks, and readied phasers that were his greeting aboard the Don Quixote. Instead he pulled a hypospray from his pocket, and took a step towards the Captain before a cautioning grunt from Colonel Krige made him stop in mid-step. Turning his head, and sparing none of the venom from gaze he now directed towards the Marine, the Andorian said "Colonel, someone's sabotaged the transponders you're all wearing in your skin. They're set to disintegrate slowly, and when they reach a certain point they'll send out a broad frequency transmission. Inside a military installation like this, it'll be like a siren going off!" (Reply Krige, Remae, any on away mission) (Posted by Michael Drake) (Shuttle One - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 0320) Unable to make course corrections during their trip, the shuttle had nearly come to grief on the sheer amount of traffic out there but, they had been lucky, they entered the atmosphere of Betazed exactly where they had predicted and unfortunately, the speed was also correct. it was very quick and they slammed into the atmosphere at 1/3 impulse. "Initiating rapid descent sequence," said Remae pinned to the back of his seat as the shuttle began its entry sequence, turning sharply to decelerate. It was over quickly, the shuttle was down and in one piece although the Bajoran didn't remember a lot about it. "Everyone out," he said, Colonel, see if anyone is about while I get everyone out of here. (Betazed - Captain Remae Ktell - 0330) Remae hopped out the door a few seconds after the Marine but he was already gone, amazing anyone could move that fast, Remae grabbed his team, their supplies and they headed for nearby cover to compose themselves. (Reply from Anyone on Team) "Mr Tahl, are you okay?" said Remae as he looked at a small scratch on the forehead of the STRATOPS. (Reply from Tahl) "Colonel," said Remae just noticing their Marine was back, "Situation Report?" he asked and he took a moment to make sure all the members of the team were okay. (Reply from T'Vhor, Banowsky, ALL on Team Betazed, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (Betazed, Forested Base Camp - Lt Col Krige - 0338) "Colonel. Situation Report?" "The immediate area is clear; there is no immediate sign from the town that we drew attention. The initial message to the local resistance has been sent." He looked around, "This is not a terribly defensive position though, Sir." (Reply: any) (Posted by Trout) (USS Palomino, Hanger Bay 2 - First Officer T'Vhor - 0345) Once the Evangeline had set down upon the decking of the Palomino's hangerbay, T'Vhor looked out briefly through the screen at the immediate surrounding area. He then unclipped his Commbadge to place it upon the console in front of him before picking up the small holdall he had brought with him in preparation for leaving the shuttle. The side door of the shuttle opened at the touch of the actuating button & the Spectre's First Officer, wearing the uniform & pips of an Ensign now finally stepped down onto enemy territory, one of the Palomino's hanger bay crew acknowledging him without suspicion as he did so. ~So far so good~ To continue the ruse however, it was important that T'Vhor be seen to be acting in a suitable manner so with that in mind, he removed & placed four empty storage boxes from the shuttle onto the sectioned off area to it's rear before quickly heading off through the door & out into the corridor on a route that would take him as close to the computer core as possible. Being familiar with Oberth class vessels, T'Vhor had a good grasp on the route he should take & it didn't take long for him to get to where he wanted to be. Projecting an air of only calm & confidence, the FO gave nothing away to the various crewmembers still onboard the obviously half deserted vessel. The Palomino appeared to be on shakedown now with only a minimal crew compliment on board & this suited T'Vhor's nefarious needs most admirably. He had yet to be confronted directly but then T'Vhor was an expert at blending in, it had been a foremost requirement during his times as a young resistance fighter on the ravaged lands of Bajor & it served him well now also. Time however was indeed of the essence & his goal was now just up ahead of him. (USS Palomino, Deck 21, Jefferies tube 2A/ODN access port 62 - First Officer T'Vhor - 0405) With the port cover now removed & the ODN terminal visible, T'Vhor attached a shunt device to three of the takeoffs that led to the main computer core, he then attached the modified PADD he'd brought with him to the shunts & powered up the device before initiating the first of the specialised programs he had created for just this sort of thing. It took a few minutes for the program to sift through the spurious data flowing through the Palomino's systems, but it eventually found & identified the relevant LCARS port retrieval junctions to the main core. Once there, T'Vhor could easily access the files directly & discreetly, the shunt devices now preventing the ships computer from detecting unauthorised access accordingly. Working with the PADD now, T'Vhor continued to identify & 'siphon' off relevant data into it's expanded memory, surface scans of Betazed, mission details, intership communications logs & all other manner of otherwise locked data now becoming freely available to him. Within fifteen minutes the FO had everything he needed & more, all he had to do now was return to the Evangeline with the precious data intact & get off the Palomino. (USS Palomino, Corridor - First Officer T'Vhor - 0430) The sound of the red alert klaxon resounding all around him had suddenly caught T'Vhor unawares, immediately he stopped in his tracks looking up & down the corridor wondering what the hell was going on. Had his ruse been exposed? Were they onto him? A hundred & one possibilities presented themselves to him but still he remained as calm as he was able under the circumstances. A crewman ran past him obviously in a hurry to be somewhere else & T'Vhor stopped him in his tracks. "What is happening?" he asked. "Beats me", said the crewman looking bewildered, "the system is reporting a warp core containment failure yet again", he added. "It's about time they sorted this, it's gonna be a false alarm just as before, it'll probably silence itself in a moment or two, damn Gremlins", said the officer as he made his excuses & then headed off down the corridor once again. The First Officer quirked an eyebrow as he watched the man disappear from his sight, then he resumed his own course towards the awaiting Evangeline in hanger bay two. ~Gremlins?~ T'Vhor brushed the question aside, it wouldn't do to try figure human mannerisms & sayings anymore than it would do to figure out the whys & wherefores of Klingon acronysm's. Then, all at once the Klaxon & the red alert status was silenced just as the crewman had suggested it would be. ~It would seem that the Admirals fleet seems to be in some state of disarray~ T'Vhor then entered hanger bay two with his holdall in place upon his shoulder. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Observation Lounge - 2O, Lt. JG Will Banowsky - 0700) It was early in the morning, Will sat quietly in the observation lounge as he looked over some PADDs and sighed. The Spectre was now safely at the waiting point where it would stay until they were contacted by either the Captain or Lt. T'Vhor. However, he also had his doubts on whether or not that day would come. According to CEO H'Chir, before he beamed himself aboard the Don Quixote, the away team's transponders had been tampered with. This saboteur was slowly becoming a pain in his side, and for his first time in command, though it was in an acting position, he was clearly nervous. However he would do his best not to let the crew know that. He had finished looking over a list of names of officers who were still on the Spectre, those remaining of the Senior staff, or the assistant chiefs of the Spectre, of whom he would make sure he would be working closely with while he was in command. Of course he eagerly awaited the time that Captain Remae and T'Vhor would return to the Spectre and he could return to his post at the CONN station. He then tapped his commbadge, "Will the following officers please report to the Observation Lounge, Lt. Yelena Vasilyovna, Lt. Andrew Williams, Lt. Yayla Nollys, Ensign Kyla Angeletti, Ensign Gordon Morris, and Ensign S'harien Fisher. Thank you." Will that sat patiently for a few more minutes as he waited for the officers he called to slowly arrive to the Observation lounge. He was nervous, he was frightened, and these were the people whom he would trust with his life, to make sure they survived, and made sure that all of the members of the away teams returned. Commander Tahlmari, Captain Remae, Lt. T'Vhor, even H'Chir, whom he so constantly butted heads with. He wanted to make sure all were returned safely. As soon as all the officers he had called where assembled he stood up and spoke. Which is one of the reasons I assembled you all, to know that I have the utmost confidence in all of you, and to see whether or not you have confidence in me, which I hope." Will then sat down again. Is that Understood?" (Reply Angeletti) "Good, I also want the cloaking device off limits to anyone except myself, Lt. Vasilyovna, yourself, and two engineering officers that I have chosen, Chief Petty Officer M'Rurrh, and Ensign Junior Grade Grant Archie. This is just for added security. I hope that is acceptable?" (Reply Angeletti) "Good, speaking of Security, Lt. Vasilyovna, Ensign Fisher, I would like the two of you to put most of your efforts into finding our saboteur, whether he is on the Spectre, or if he left with the away team, as well as if there are any accomplices. I would not like anything else going on." (Reply Vasilyovna, Fisher) "Moving on to good old Mr. Morris, I want you to see if there is anyway we could still lock onto the transponders from the Spectre, or at least assess the damage done to them. Perhaps away to repair them remotely. Anything to try and ensure the safety of the away teams. If you need any help, I'm sure anyone of us here wouldn't mind helping." (Reply Morris) "Lt. If that were to fail, we would be dead in the water." (Reply Nollys, Williams, Angeletti) "Alright then all are dismissed except for Lt. Williams." (Reply any) Will waited for everyone to depart. Finally when both he and Dr. Williams were alone he brushed his hair back and sighed. "I can't say I am not nervous Andrew. I am damn near petrified. But that's not why I asked you to stay behind. No not to vent, but rather to ask you a question. I trust you, and out of all the officers left on board, I have served more time with you, and feel as if you are decent guy, and good friend. I can't be on the bridge at all times, and I can't stay awake all the time either." (Reply Williams) "Thing is, I'd like you to be my acting first officer while I'm in command. Nothing official, so you won't get any special title or treatment. I would just like you to have bridge duty from time to time to help free me up to do other thing around the ship, such as help out the other officers, or eat, or sleep...which if I am not mistaken, you're a bit of an insomniac which helps the night shift. I also don't want to take you away from your sickbay duties. That said, I'll let you know when I need you on the bridge. Just want to know if I can count on you." (Reply Williams) "Thanks man, I appreciate it. And if sickbay gets boring, you're welcome to sit in the FO's chair if you want." (Reply Williams) "You're dismissed." (Reply Williams iyw) Will than sat quietly and began to think. Maybe things would turn out for the best. (Reply from all that were in lounge) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Observation Lounge - TAC/SC Yelena Vasilyovna - 0701) The Obs lounge certainly seemed strange without either of the senior officers present, the 20 was there of course, well, he had to be really as he was now the ranking officer on the ship & by definition the occupant of the centre chair. Banowsky however, looked slightly ill at ease in the role, he was clearly unsure of himself but seemed to be doing just fine all the same, confidence would come in time as invariably it always does. After he had brought the remaining officers up to spec on their current mission though, he immediately passed his attention to both Yelena & her TAC/ASC Ensign Fisher. "Speaking of Security, Lt. Vasilyovna, Ensign Fisher, I would like the two of you to put most of your efforts into finding our saboteur, whether he is on the Spectre, or if he left with the away team, as well as if there are any accomplices. I would not like anything else going on," said Banowsky. "It's ongoing as we speak sir", said Yelena, "I have teams working on it round the clock, when he slips up we will be there to catch him", she added. (Reply Any) Banowsky nodded & then continued on to the next officer in the line. Yayla Nollys - 0704) Not being able to sleep the greatest, Yayla decided to head to the mess hall for an early breakfast. Since her arrival on the ship, she hadn't even been to the mess hall before, much less gotten up early just for that express purpose. As she sat at a table in the corner, she looked out the viewport at the passing stars and sipped her coffee. Things had been so bland in her life lately, and she knew she needed to get out and spice it up. ~...But that will have to wait until after the war,~ she thought, then chuckled to herself. She said 'war' as if were a loosely used term and people fought in one everyday. It was no laughing matter, however it was an engine of change. Sighing, she came to the conclusion that maybe the war itself was what would 'spice up her life.' Turning her attention back to her cup of coffee, she awaited for her breakfast to be put down in front of her. Scrambled eggs and bacon. It was one human food delicacy that she always loved. "Will the following officers please report to the Observation Lounge, Lt. Yelena Vasilyovna, Lt. Andrew Williams, Lt. Yayla Nollys, Ensign Kyla Angeletti, Ensign Gordon Morris, and Ensign S'harien Fisher. Thank you." ~Figures,~ she thought, as she stood up, downed the last of her coffee, then went up to the counter. Which is one of the reasons I assembled you all, to know that I have the utmost confidence in all of you, and to see whether or not you have confidence in me, which I hope." Mentally rolling her eyes, she thought, ~Yeah yeah yeah, get on with it already.~ Not that she didn't like Banowsky, she liked everyone she served with thus far, she just hated 'confidence' and 'I believe in you' speeches. But thinking back, she was never a person to be swayed or effected by them, so she sat neutral. "Moving to business...." Sitting up more in her chair, she thought, ~That's more like it!~ "It seems our saboteur may have struck again, as the transponders among our away team have been tampered with. This also sadly took our Chief Engineer of the Spectre and onto the Don Quixote with Captain Remae's away team. Therefore for the time being, Ensign Angeletti, you will act as Chief Engineer until H'Chir's return. Is that Understood?" Looking over towards her friend, she raised her eyebrows a little bit in excitement for Kyla. She of coarse knew it would only be temporary, but she also knew her friend was dying for a chief position. "Moving on to good old Mr. Morris, I want you to see if there is anyway we could still lock onto the transponders from the Spectre, or at least assess the damage done to them. Perhaps away to repair them remotely. Anything to try and ensure the safety of the away teams. If you need any help, I'm sure anyone of us here wouldn't mind helping." "Lt. If that were to fail, we would be dead in the water." "Aye sir," said Nollys. With that the meeting was cut short (her favourite kind). "Alright then all are dismissed except for Lt. Williams." ~Well there went my idea...~ she thought as she stood up and exited the room. She was wanting to speak with Williams right away about their plan since they were working together, but she decided instead to speak with her friend Kyla while Williams was still inside. "Hey," Yayla said after they walked out. "Congrats on a temporary chief position." <> "Yeah well, I know what you mean. I can't wait until all this is over with. Although I must say that finding whoever is responsible for this is sort of exciting." <> "Maybe we can get together later on tonight. I'm waiting to talk to Williams first though." (Reply Nollys, Morris, any) (Posted By Robbie) (USS Spectre, Security Centre - TAC/SC Yelena Vasilyovna - 0730) Yelena was at the console going through reports from the last security chief's evaluation on their saboteur problem. It seemed that since they had left refit, the problems had manifested themselves, this obviously raised the possibility of someone having messed with the systems then. The events however, although slow to begin, were now becoming far more focused & dangerous. Already Yelena's predecessor was dead due to this fact & if they didn't at least get a tab on who it was that was involved they might lose more people too. That of course was not an option.... "Ensign Fisher", said Yelena as Fisher himself walked suddenly behind her before turning to face her. (Reply Fisher) "You are particularly familiar with covert activities yes?" said Yelena. (Reply Fisher) "I pulled your records, it seems you were associated with Tal Shiar when on Romulus were you not", said the TAC/SC. (Reply Fisher) To be truthful, the thought worried the security chief somewhat, having a part Romulan security officer with a Tal Shiar background was unnerving in itself. Where did his loyalties now lie? "I want you to go over what we already know of the devices found by Ensign Angeletti", said Yelena, "see if any of it matches in with anything you know & get back to me on it", she added. (Reply Fisher) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - Unknown - 0730) Ten Forward was alive with the number of crew members finishing up breakfast before their shifts began. Some, who were on the night shift, were there getting something to help transition them to sleep, and flush some of the caffeine out of there systems. It was alive, if that is the correct term, in the sense of all the movement. Though sombre due to the fact that their captain and first officer were off who knows where on an away mission. Coupled with those betazoid crew members worried about their planet, made the usually cheerful atmosphere of ten forward a little more tone downed. Of course it would turn from sombre to depressing in a matter of moments, as a little malfunction caused all the replicators in ten forward to start replicating dog food for everything, whether it be drink or food. One of the bar tenders quickly sent a message to Lt. Banowsky who was acting commanding officer for the Spectre for the time being. "Sir it seems as though the replicators are acting up, producing dog food sir." =^= I know=^= Banowsky replied, I am experiencing the same thing in the observation lounge. I'll get a team on it right away.=^= The bartender then went back to the bar prepping the supplies they had to make non replicated food items. It seemed like it was going to be a long day. During all the commotion however, no one happened to notice when one of the Spectre's crew silently exited ten forward with a huge smile on their face. (Reply none) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Observation Lounge - Lt.JG Banowsky - 0730) Will was sitting in the Observation Lounge going over some PADDs before he planned on going to the bridge. The morning meeting went well, which pleased Will. It was his first meeting in the command position, and he was glad of its success. After looking through the last PADD he headed over to the replicator for something to drink. "Hot chocolate." He said awaiting a nice refreshing warm glass of hot chocolate, instead he got, dog food. This ticked him off quite a bit. One he disliked the smell of dog food. He was also looking forward to the hot chocolate. But the thing that ticked him off the most was that it possibly meant the sabotage was continuing. It made sense, take out the replicators and weaken an already lowered crew morale. Then his commbadge went off. =^=Sir it seems as though the replicators are acting up, producing dog food sir.=^= "I know" Will replied, "I am experiencing the same thing in the observation lounge. I'll get a team on it right away." Will was rather displeased, it probably meant that his fears were true, it was another act of sabotage. Of course Will was going to act right away and do all he could to try and catch the person responsible. "Banowsky to Angeletti." Will said tapping his commbadge. (Reply Angeletti) "The replicators are malfunctioning. Can you get a team to repair them. I hate being a bother, but as far as morale is concerned we could use these fixed." (Reply Angeletti) "Thank you ensign, let me know if you need anything." Will hated to bother the acting chief engineer, and he knew that if H'Chir would have been aboard he would have moaned and groaned. Will would have also had Morris take a look but he didn't want to pry Morris from his work. So instead of putting the OPS chief to work, he put the acting CEO. Will would have done it himself, but he really didn't have the time to spare, not when he was the acting commanding officer for the time being. "Banowsky to Vasilyovna." Will said tapping his commbadge once more. (Reply Vasilyovna) "I want you to look into the events with the replicators. If you haven't heard they are malfunction, producing dog food instead of what is requested. If it were not for past events that have occurred I would have passed them off as a computer failure, but with a saboteur on board, I'm not sure. Maybe this was to lower morale. Who knows? But I would like you to look into it. Get Mr. Fisher to help you as well." (Reply Vasilyovna) "Thank you Lt." Will then threw the dog food in a waste dispenser and headed out the door to the bridge. It had been one hour since the saboteur had messed with the replicators, but luckily there have been no other occurrences of sabotage since then. Which for Will meant that he had some rest. The investigation was going well, and everything was fine. "Hello, good morning," Will said to the crewmembers in sickbay, some who were working, some who were getting treatment. A general response was good morning by the crewmembers who were capable of saying so, which luckily for Will and crew, it was everyone. "Is Dr. Williams here?" Will asked. (Reply Williams) "Just dropped by to say hello Doc. Things have been pretty smooth since the replicator incident, so I thought I could steal away for a bit, and ask you to take a bridge shift at 12.00 hours." (Reply Williams) "Good." Will replied, when a frantic nurse yelled at Dr. Williams. "Sir," she said, "There is something wrong with the equipment, this man came in for cold treatment, and the equipment says he is dead." "The hell!" Will yelled. (Reply Williams) Then another nurse reported the same thing, it seemed that a good multitude of the equipment in sickbay was reporting that the patients were dead, even though they were clearly alive. "Dr. Williams, I will leave the mess in sickbay to you, I need to go take care of some business. It seems that another thing has gone wrong. I don't know why sickbay, but I guess if you take our medical equipment is malfunctioning, then who knows. But I need to go and do some investigations. We need to get ourselves ahead of this guy." Rear-Admiral Richard Ian Lee said firmly. "The problem is, now they're sitting ducks, much as was expected. There is approximately five hundred enemy ships en-route for battle." LoDona, his arms crossed as he looked out of his window, said. "Then I suppose its time we sent everything we have at them, no?" He turned back to face the room. "We have three-hundred Federation ships sitting right here with us, we have another six-hundred confirmed sitting at various places all around the Federation. And lastly, we have the Klingon High Command just a few hundred kilometres off our starboard bow in a Command Ship with approximately 1200 ships under their command. And there are, what, another 600 refitting in the Empire for entry into the Federation within the next two weeks?" Robert brought his hands forward and rubbed at his Borg Implants. "We have twenty-one hundred ships, I think it's time we used them. God knows, Doenitz has been given plenty of chances to surrender without full-out war." He turned his head slightly so he could look at Lee, "My orders to all Commanders... Sail the River Styx." His look was grim, "Send that with my compliments, immediately." Rich cleared his throat, "Aye sir. I'd best be getting back to the 'Watch." Robert nodded and turned back to the window as Rich dismissed himself. 'Sail the River Styx'** wasn't a set of orders so much as a password, a final set of safe-words that had to be sent and verified before all the pre-packaged orders were followed. It was basically a statement saying 'Proceed'. Once given, all the fleets and task-forces would move in for war. The Talons surged under him as, all around him, Klingon and Federation ships engaged into warp. There were eight-hundred ships in his Task Force, the mostly-combined might of the Klingons and the 52nd fleet with more then a handful of stragglers from other deep-space assignments. Their first standoff would be against a vastly inferior fleet sent by Doenitz to protect the outer line; he couldn't yet afford to send a fleet this size with the Core worlds still unpacified. Of course, by moving in this manner, LoDona might have just forced Doenitz to deal in even harsher methods of pacification. Robert would pity Doenitz in that case. Most of his officers already wanted Doenitz's head; levelling every Core planet would make him the most wanted man in the galaxy. One of his aides walked up to him, "Captain Rhea's compliments sir, the Talons is going to proceed under yellow alert." Robert nodded briefly that he'd understood, twenty-seconds later the ship went to yellow alert. The Klaxons were immediately disabled within the War room, not that it mattered. Robert had learned to ignore them after a lifetime of war. He turned on his heel to face his staff once more, "Alright people, lets do this." Defections are increasing." Rodrigo crossed his arms behind him absently as he looked at the tactical map. "That's to be expected." he said crossly, "Even so, I want punishments stepped up. Make defection to ugly to contemplate." The Fleet Admiral he was talking to nodded. One of Doenitz's cadre, Dostare was fully onboard with Rodrigo's style of gathering loyalty and inspiring fear. He made a note on a PADD and changed the area of the star-map, "We've also got reports from the incursion fleet, and they've met heavy resistance... enough that they were forced to turn back with near 50% casualties." Admiral Dostare looked over at the self-proclaimed president, "We'll need to pull forces off of the pacification fleets or we'll be buried inside a month. The thrice-damned Klingons have given them the numbers they needed for a push, and the newly turned rebel fleets are making life difficult all along the frontier." Doenitz said nothing for long moments; he just looked at the map. Inside he was seething; he had never dealt well with people who didn't follow his commands. They were traitors, all, and should be executed. However, to get what they so richly deserved would turn what was left of the loyal fleet against him. He needed to win a coup, something he could use against LoDona and the Klingons. Further, he needed a victory... something that would send them reeling to lick their wounds, something that would give him the necessary time to solidify his regime. There were only a couple things that came to mind, but Falthgood's warning was also firmly nestled in his brain. He muttered to himself as he considered the ramifications of action VS non-action. Finally, after long moments of silence, he said. "Get me Trididar on the horn, its time we turned up the heat." The Fleet Admiral stiffened, he was one of the few others who knew what Trididar did for Doenitz, and he was one of only three others who knew about Captain Falthgood's warning. "Sir, are you sure..." "Yes." Doenitz said simply. The Admiral nodded to an aide, who quickly disappeared from the room to carry out the president's order. Doenitz, his arms still crossed, said: "Prepare a battle group; I want the Nimitz taken down. Falthgood is to be targeted." He looked over at the Admiral, "Pull what you need from the pacification fleet, but make sure that the local populaces are under control before you do." he turned on his heel and said over his back, "Whatever it takes Fleet Admiral. If you can't do it, I'll find someone with the brass who will." (Earth, Government Complex, Presidents Office - President Rodrigo Doenitz - 1035) "Mr. President, there is a Captain Trididar here to see you." Doenitz waved his assent without looking up from his monitor. One of the things he'd become used to over the years was paperwork, there was just as much as President as there was as an Admiral. It took more of his time then anything else... it was enough to drive a man not inclined to perfection mad. He shut the monitor off as the Benzite Captain Trididar stepped in. Trididar was the fourth man in charge of Reverse Technologies since Doenitz had left for higher duties, the second since Falthgood had cravenly abandoned the post. And of them all, he was Doenitz's least favourite, the man had argued endlessly against the use of the devices. He'd latched onto that argument; he always said something about never being able to close Pandora's Box again if they did. "Captain, have a seat." He said with all the arrogance he'd gathered from a lifetime in the fleet. He picked up a PADD as the Benzite quietly took a seat, and then handed it over. "I want these projects restarted and deployed." He held up a hand when Trididar opened his mouth, probably to protest. "And I don't want to hear a word about it." He said in a no-nonsense tone. "I'm tired of hearing it, don't make me replace you." The Benzite shut his mouth and took the PADD. He scrolled it for a few moments before saying, "Yes Sir." "That means now, Captain." Trididar stood and snapped a salute, "Aye Sir." Doenitz watched him leave with narrowed eyes. The man was rapidly becoming a liability. Once those orders were deployed, he might have to have an 'accident'. The world of Reverse Tech was cloaked in secrecy anyway, he wouldn't be missed. It was something to consider anyway. Rodrigo made a note of it and turned back to his work. If not attended to, it would breed. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, StratOps Centre - ACEO, Kyla Angeletti - 1132) It hadn't taken Angeletti long to gather what was needed for this investigation, despite her current mood. She found it extremely easy to ignore her feelings and go about her duty. It was what she had to do, no questions asked. As Kyla approached the console she noticed the very visible scorch marks from the power surge that had claimed Pierce Orde. She stood in reverie for a few moments, then knelt down to expose the console's web of conduits and circuitry. With no visible signs of tampering, Angeletti began scanning the area with her tricorder. The only thing recorded was the obvious damage a power surge would cause. Kyla sat back and sighed. She hadn't expected to find anything... She knew that it wasn't just an accident, and that whoever was behind this was intelligent and conniving. But there had to be some kind of evidence left behind, and Angeletti was going to find it. Due to the damage the console had sustained, she wasn't sure if she would be able to follow through with the next step in her investigation. Kyla crossed her fingers as she supplied temporary power to the console. Within seconds it had acknowledged the power feed by chirping and blinking away, and Kyla smiled with relief. "Okay..." Kyla spoke to herself as she brought up the command sequences that had been entered into the console throughout the day. She shuffled through the listing until she found Orde's last entry, then reviewed the command sequence he had been entering when the surge occurred. It was a standard code to permit the re-routing of power. "Computer, enter the accessed sequence exactly as it was entered by Lieutenant Commander Orde." At this point Angeletti backed a few steps away from the console and observed. Nothing unusual happened. There was no power surge, no adverse effect. "Alright. Computer, show me this sequence as it was entered by Orde, from the start of the command code sequence to the end of the power surge." Kyla watched closely as the event unfolded on the console. "Now show me what happened when the command code sequence, entered by Lieutenant Commander Orde, was repeated." Angeletti's eyes widened as she had finally found the evidence she was looking for, and she quickly tapped her commbadge. "Angeletti to Lieutenant T'Vhor. "I'm sorry to bother you but the Captain wanted me to inject the whole crew with the sub-dermal implants. I don't know why I did not do it earlier sorry about that. Do you mind if I do it now? " "Ya go ahead, I don't see why not." Will said as he rolled up his sleeve. "There might be some slight stinging sensation for a couple of seconds and a red mark for a bit but apart from that its fine." "In the words of my high school football coach, pain is just weakness leaving the body...or something like that." Andrew injected Will with a hypospray. "Thank you for that. If you do feel any thing strange please tell me at once." "I am sure I won't. Anyways, the test is scheduled for 21.30. Anyways, you are our guinea pigs. So we are gonna scan and lock on to you, and beam you to the transporter room from wherever you are. So be ready alright?" Andrew nodded and left the bridge. "I have already liaised with the Lieutenant Colonel on this sir, I believe he wants us to meet him in holodeck two at 21:15", said T'Vhor. (Reply CO, IYW) "One more thing, I assume you've not seen the message or request sent by our Counsellor," said the Captain handing the FO a PADD. T'Vhor took the PADD with a puzzled look & looked over the details upon it. "Most strange", said the FO, "the Counsellor has given no indication that he wishes to leave before". "We decloaked for 4 seconds at 18.40, the computer, diligently, sent the message to Starbase Geneva, but Admiral LoDona will not interfere with my ship and crew. Divon is still going on the mission to Betazed, for the rest, we'll have to sort it out later," said Remae. "Would you like me to speak with him?" said T'Vhor, "perhaps I can find out why he has had this change of mind", he added. (Reply CO) "Very well sir", said T'Vhor... "Thank you Lieutenant, I will see you for that drink later on, please make sure ALL away team personnel are reminded that they are to assemble as per the mission plans," said Remae dismissing the FO. "Aye sir, I'll see to it immediately", said T'Vhor as he turned & left the ready room. [They are in holodeck 1] ~Great that is just down the corridor.~ He tapped his medi-kit which was hanging beside him. ~I can inject them all at once.~ (USS Spectre, Holodeck 1 - CMO, Williams - 2105) As he entered the holodeck Andrew saw that the away team were facing Lt Col Krige who was standing beside an Andorian woman. ~Looks like Krige is going to show them a few things...~ Andrew suddenly saw Krige grab the woman and slide a knife that he was carrying into the woman's ribs. ~Bloody Hell! So that's what old Sarge MacDonald meant by lethal combat. Glad I know a bit more then the basics at least~ "Computer, reset the Andorian woman." The computer obliged, and Krige stuffed his knife back into its sheath. "Now, if there are any of you who want to leave, this will be the time." ~Yeah me. I can see why he's a Lt Col. I think I'll just stay here and not get in the way.~ Andrew stood out of the way and waited for the training to continue. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Holodeck 1 - Lt Col Krige - 2120) Krige, back in his small humanoid form, crossed his arms and looked at everyone closely. Everyone was assembled and the mission clock was ticking. He took a breath, knowing already what he wanted to say. "We have mere hours," he finally said. "And you have all taken the basic courses at the Academy for combat action. I won't sink myself so low to think that none of you remember it. Rather, I'm going to take you through a few things that Starfleet never would have taught you. Skills, a way of thinking that could get you out of this situation alive." He looked at each one in turn and continued with, "The skills I am about to show you are distasteful, they are immoral, they are dangerous and dirty. However, they are skills that our enemy has begun using against us... and they are not immune themselves." "Computer," he continued after a few moments. "Create a representation of a Starfleet Officer, random race, sex and build." A female Andorian formed before everyone's eyes. Krige almost smiled, because the command he had given was preset. This was -not- a random officer. He wanted a slight female from the start, shock tactics. "The first thing you will have to learn is that nobody is exempt. Nobody is immune. Everyone you will face has just one goal in mind, to capture or kill you. There are no exceptions; you can NOT let prejudice enter your mind." Without warning he yanked a knife from his combat harness, grabbed the woman by the neck, and slipped the blade into her lower ribs as easy as a fork through butter. But rather then kill her, he gave her a savage push and jumped away. "Look at that." He said, as the holographic woman held her side, cried and screamed. "She is not dead, but she is disabled. Her mates, her squad, will be forced to deal with her, to carry her, to render aid. Every person that is forced off the front line is one less person that you have to deal with in the end. This is a headspace you had best get into; because you can be sure the enemy will try the same to you... they will force you to carry your wounded, to tend to them, to hold up in a semi-secure place while you lick your wounds. The dead can be left, the living cannot." Some of their faces looked horribly shocked, and he almost felt sad at that. Krige had seen so much death; it was almost a joy when he found people in whom innocence still survived. But for now, at least, there wasn't the time. "Computer, reset the Andorian woman." The computer obliged, and Krige stuffed his knife back into its sheath. "Now, if there are any of you who want to leave, this will be the time." (Reply: away team/training team) (Posted by Trout) (USS Spectre, Holodeck 1 - First Officer T'Vhor - 2122) The FO stood with those assembled as the squat marine, now back in his more humanoid form began instructing them all on how to despatch an enemy in the least troublesome manner. "The skills I am about to show you are distasteful, they are immoral, they are dangerous and dirty", said Krige pacing up & down their line. "However, they are skills that our enemy has begun using against us... and they are not immune themselves", he added before instructing the computer to throw up a holographic opponent for him to demonstrate such a skill upon. T'Vhor wondered at first why he had chosen the female Andorian that had just formed before everyone's eyes. Then it became obvious to him, there was nothing like the destruction of an apparent innocent to shock others & this man was certainly intent on driving home the seriousness of what they were going to be up against. The Lieutenant Colonel was certainly going to be delivering what he'd said. He was going to be dirty, he was going to be immoral & he was going to be to the point as promised........ "The first thing you will have to learn is that nobody is exempt", said Krige launching into his lecture on the hostility of their foe no matter what they might look like. Then without warning he approached the Andorian with his knife to incapacitate her & injure her just enough to render her unable to fight back, much to the surprise of those gathered there. The lesson to be learned here was one that T'Vhor knew well, these were guerrilla tactics designed to slow the enemy down, "The dead can be left, the living cannot," said Krige to emphasise the point of what he was trying to teach. The First Officer didn't flinch at all, it wasn't because he knew that the opponent had not been real, it was because he himself had seen more than his fair share of death whilst fighting with the resistance on Bajor, death was nothing new to him. "Now, if there are any of you who want to leave, this will be the time," said Krige looking around the room in silence. Nobody left of course & the Lieutenant Colonel continued on with his lesson. (Reply Any, None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Holodeck 1 - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 2125) "Look at that," Remae watched as the Marine moved swiftly, in one clear motion stabbing the Andorian Female and then taking a step back in the same motion. "She is not dead, but she is disabled. Her mates, her squad, will be forced to deal with her, to carry her, to render aid. Every person that is forced off the front line is one less person that you have to deal with in the end. The dead can be left, the living cannot." It wasn't a subtle lesson, but the message was clear, Remae was desperate to avoid any contact with the enemy as much as possible, he was hoping it wouldn't come down to the type of guerrilla warfare the Colonel was adept at. "Computer, reset the Andorian woman." The computer obliged, and Krige returning his knife. "Now, if there are any of you who want to leave, this will be the time," he said to the team assembled. Remae looked up and down the line, Counsellor Lronen, Commander Tahlmari, Doctor Williams. All of them didn't move from their spot and he was proud of them. "Colonel, this could be a good time to get familiar with our equipment, whatever you had in mind for us, we need to get to know how to use it, fast," said Remae wondering what the Colonel had in mind for them, they had to travel light but have enough supplies to last. If the Spectre left them on Betazed, it would be a long, long time to get recovered. (Reply from Krige, Any on Holodeck 1) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Holodeck 1 - StratOps, Commander Tahlmari - 2126) Tahl stood in line with the other members of the away team, assembled. He looked at the man, who seemed more than just a little odd. Not odd, in the normal sense that things seemed odd, but really odd. Being in Strategic Operations must be making him a little crazy. Of course, not being able to find much out about the man, other than his basic service record didn't ease his anxieties. Krige began to speak. He emphasized the shortness of time to prepare for this mission. Tahl had to agree with that assessment. He almost spoke up when Krige said that they'd all had the "basic courses" for combat action. He had been run through his paces pretty well by Richard Lee. It went beyond, way beyond, anything that may be remotely considered basic. He looked at each member of the away team, speaking, "The skills I am about to show you are distasteful, they are immoral, they are dangerous and dirty." He stopped right in front of Tahl as he completed his point. "However, they are skills that our enemy has begun using against us... and they are not immune themselves." Tahl didn't mind fighting dirty, and he wondered exactly what Krige considered to be "immoral". He was beginning to think that there might be something to learn here. Krige turned away and called up his program. A female Andorian appeared and Krige began his demonstration. With a quick and violent motion he grabbed the woman and drove his knife into her ribs. The motion surprised Tahl, but he'd seen blood before. Of course, most of it had been his own. The tactic of mortally wounding an opponent, in order to inconvenience his troop was not a new one. Of course, it only worked if the opposing forces cared about the wounded, and didn't just kill that person themselves, which he was certain that Doenitz's people might do. Also, a wounded opponent is not a dead opponent, and sometimes that, in itself, can come back and shoot you in the ass. However, he knew that Krige was trying to make a point, and opted not to say a word. "Computer, reset the Andorian woman." Krige stuffed his knife back into its sheath. "Now, if there are any of you who want to leave, this will be the time." "Colonel," it was Remae who spoke next, "this could be a good time to get familiar with our equipment, whatever you had in mind for us, we need to get to know how to use it, fast." Tahl wanted say amen to that, but simply nodded his head in agreement. He was definitely interested in whatever new weapon that they planned to use. What experience in unconventional warfare have any of you had?" he looked at the Captain especially, Bajorans were (in many cases) known for it. (Reply: all) (Posted by Trout) (IRW Dihvael, Bridge - Commander Talok - 2130) "Humans, so predictable in their inane treachery", said commander Talok as he sat in the command chair observing the forward viewscreen with a somewhat puzzled expression etched upon his typically straight-laced Romulan features. N'alae was no more impressed than he at the proceedings being presented to them. The Tal Shiar officer at the comms console simply nodded her accent as she speculated on the intelligence they had gathered so far on the movements of the 52nd fleet. From her dealings with Talok however, N'alae had grown suspicious of his motives, she was concerned also as to his allegiance to the Romulan senate, already having made one report to the proconsuls adviser in regards this. They had been given clear orders now to observe from a distance & report on the Klingon/Human alliance as it developed. N'alae didn't like this at all but her hands were tied, she would rather have engaged them without hesitation but the powers that be had other ideas. For the time being anyway.... The cloaked federation vessel of course was quite visible to them now via the almost imperceptible indications being reported by the experimental phase inverter tied into the Warbirds sensor arrays. Hiding behind the Betazed Moon Avandar, it seemed they had grown complacent in their stealth, how little they knew. Talok contemplated further as he watched the ships of the opposing fleet meandering to & fro, completely unaware as they were of the snake that had recently appeared in the grass on their doorstep. He then stood & made for the exit at the rear of the Warbird's bridge. "Continue to observe, do not initiate contact of any kind, contact me immediately if there are any further developments", said Talok, "I will be in my quarters", he added as he vacated the bridge, leaving it in the capable hands of his sub commander. From her Console, N'alae merely glared at Talok's continuing non intervention, the odds of course at this time were against them, they couldn't have hoped to prevail over so many ships massed in this area. It made sense to remain in stealth but it annoyed the head strong Tal Shiar officer nonetheless. Returning her attention to her console however, she re-read the intelligence they had gathered. The 52nd fleet was deploying over the entire quadrant, the Klingons had rendezvoused with various federation ships & were already engaged in sporadic hostility's against the renegade Starfleet Admiral. How much more proof did the senate require before they would see this as the obvious threat to Romulus that it was. Already they had lost one Warbird to the USS Paladin, its Tal Shiar compliment already under guard & no doubt undergoing interrogation as to what their mission had entailed before they had been captured. N'alae had of course been ordered to obey the Dihvael's commander, she didn't like it at all but she obeyed the senate & so long as they were pulling the commanders strings, she would tow the line also, until such time as they cut them anyway. In his quarters however, Talok was in a pensive mood. The arrogance of the young Tal Shiar officer annoyed him no end, she had already challenged his authority on a number of occasions & it was beginning to become a little more than just irritating. Seated at his desk, he accessed his personal log & began to update its content. "Begin Log entry: Commander Talok, IRW Dihvael" [Accessing personal Log - Begin when ready] "The federation is most definitely split in two, a bloody civil war reigns but the Klingons, unworthy though they are have chosen to maintain their alliance with the side opposing Admiral Doenitz......" "N'alae is growing increasingly nervous, I will have to keep her in check for she is both impudent & ruthless in her aspirations, she threatens to unravel everything in an instance for her own personal glory......" "The senate has ordered the Dihvael to remain on station & observe the proceedings but I cannot help but feel that there is much more at foot here than meets the eye. Twice now we have had to run & hide from their sensors, to maintain this distance in a cloaked state is precarious at worst, foolhardy at best......" "The phase inverter device is functioning as expected, the current target vessel is running cloaked but is visible to our enhanced sensors. It appears also that they are planning something but I am unaware as to what it is at this time, senate will however be informed as soon as I know more.....End Log" [Log entry confirmed & updated - Ending Log] Talok then sat back into his chair, glancing to the picture of his children on the desk as he did so. For a Decorated Romulan Commander, he was surprisingly sensitive. To some it was seen as a hindrance, to others a positive aspect.... Talok however was unconcerned with their views, he longed to be back on Romulus, to hear their voices again & to touch their faces, for he was growing weary now of the endless cat & mouse politics of the Romulan Star Empire. At this time however, it was not at all possible for him to do that, the growing unrest that had developed within the split federation would have repercussions if it were left unchecked & Talok felt it his duty now to safeguard the future of Romulus against the rising threat of a possible coup against their powerbase by the newly developed, joint federation/Klingon Alliance. These were indeed troubled times, war was never pleasant, especially when it was against ones own as the Romulan Commander was of course fully aware. His own heritage had of course been the result of a cultural separation, re-unification had been attempted before but the rift between his world & that of the Vulcans seemed insurmountable now regardless of previous attempts by notables such as Ambassador Spock in 2368. And now it was all happening again to the humans. What would their future now hold for them? (Reply CO) T'Vhor then turned to the MCO & spoke briefly of his own experiences of youth & the later years before Starfleet beckoned. As a young Resistance fighter, he had of course seen the down & dirty of war up close & personal, guerrilla tactics were not new to him, if indeed that was what the Lieutenant Colonel had been referring to when he'd used the word 'Unconventional'. (Reply Krige) T'Vhor simply nodded at the MCO's response. Will entered the transporter room where he was greeted by Chief Petty Officer Michael Jefferson, who had just finished setting everything up to scan for the emitters. "We are ready to begin sir," Said Jefferson as he headed to the transporter console. "Right then chief, I want you to scan for the frequency of the emitter in CMO Williams. Here is a PADD with the frequency you should be scanning for if you need it, but Petty Officer Reed programmed a catalogue of who each frequency belonged to earlier in the day." Will said as he showed the PADD to Jefferson. "No need sir, it's programmed, I'm begin the scan, and immediate lock on now." Said Jefferson, as he looked at the console. "Frequency found, frequency verified, frequency locked, and signature locked sir, awaiting further orders." "Alright Chief, Energize." said Will eager to see the doctor and celebrate the success. The transporter pad began to become active and illuminate, as the body of Doctor Williams began to materialize in the transporter room. A smile appeared on Will's face as the doctor had fully transported. "Well then doctor, good to see you." (Reply Williams) "I do hope we haven't taken you away from anything important? Such an outgoing person, always surrounded by someone, yet she indulged herself in her own solitude tonight. Getting up and heading to the replicator, she said, "Hot chocolate with whipped cream." She watched the glow of the replicator as it made her order, then took the cup from it and paced the room. She had yet to make any sort of log since she'd been on the ship. Not much of a person to make personal logs, she felt different tonight, and decided she would. Finally pacing over towards her desk, she took a seat with her hot chocolate and took a sip. ~Still too hot,~ she thought, before sighing heavily. "Computer, start a personal log for Nollys, Yayla. Stardate 2407.01.15." Hearing the computer beep in response, she then started in with her entry. "It's been almost a month since I've been on this ship. Things are tough since I'm walking straight into the middle of a war, but then again that's why I joined Starfleet....." She wondered if she should take out that last part or leave it, but decided to move forth and figure it out later. "I find myself not believing how great the crew is that I'm serving with. I've never found it so easy to create personal friendships before now. Though I'm emmersed in a lot of work and it leaves little time for recreation, I'm pleased to say I'm happy where I'm at." Yayla decided to leave the log short, and stop where she was at. She would add more in the times ahead. "Computer, end log." Hearing the beep yet again, she knew the computer had saved her entry. As she sat there, still sipping on her hot chocolate, she glanced at the chronometer and saw it was getting into the late hours of the night. ~I have an early duty shift tomorrow.~ Sighing, she guzzled down the last of her hot chocolate, then headed towards her bedroom for a good night's sleep. As Angeletti watched the CEO approach, her mind kept asking, 'What could possibly be going on now?' H'Chir came to a sudden halt before her. "I'd like to go over the plans for the devices you were helping the doctor with. It's been explained that you might have some other priorities for the time being, and perhaps it'd be good to cast another set of eyes over the transponders." Angeletti hadn't realized until now, that she had taken on such time consuming work, all of which was very important to the ship and her crew. But she had not yet regretted any of the time she had spent working on these tasks, and she was definitely glad there was so much to keep her busy. Kyla also figured that H'Chir knew what was best, so she handed over the responsibility of the transponders, no questions asked. "Yes, sir. That sounds like a good idea to me." Kyla wasted no time tapping her commbadge to inform CMO Williams. "Ensign Angeletti to Lieutenant Williams." "Mr.H'Chir thank you for looking over the subdermal devices data. I know that you are bizy so thank you." I know that you are busy, so thank you." Biting back a more caustic reply, the Andorian replied, "You're welcome, and you're welcome, although there was no need for you to come all the way down here. I have the utmost confidence in Kyla's work. I just thought she could do with a break and a second pair of eyes. "Do you want to wait whilst I review the data?" (Reply Williams, any) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - COUNS, Counsellor Divon Lronen - 1543) "Even if he could locate the Spectre, he couldn't do anything about it. They have no ships, Sir," replied Divon, "As for his contacting me, or anyone else, so far its just to warn us away. He doesn't seem to want to engage us, he doesn't seem to want us to engage him. As you're hell bent on going down there anyway, there isn't much point. Your mind seems pretty closed on almost every subject, despite my trying to explain anything that might disrupt your plans, Sir." Divon was starting to get annoyed now. For some reason, the Captain didn't consider him to know his people, his planet, or his culture. He wondered how he would have considered this kind of behaviour if their situations were reversed. "Don't worry, I'll keep you apprised of every singular detail. As for taking 'control' or 'overwhelming', I don't believe you really understand the nature of Betazed telepathy. He could kill me where I stood, but take control of me, no. That seems out of the realms of possibility... especially at this distance. As its just my death that is of consequence, the security of this ship is not at question," stated Divon rising, "Now, if that's all, Sir." With that, Divon was dismissed. More than a little annoyed by both his behaviour and that of his Captain, he retired to his quarters, once again alone. After all... who counselled the counsellor? "We have a range of about 41.000 kilometer. Sir." "I see and the signal these devices are broadcasting on, they won't be detected by anyone else and they won't point an arrow to the Spectre, even if we are cloaked?" asked Remae ~ I hope not~ "No Captian there should be no way of detecting it." "Very good, you've covered all the basis, Doctor. why don't you go ahead and inject me with your tracker?" he said standing up. "Okay Captian." Andrew took a vile from his case and fitted it into the hypospray. "There might be a little irratation around the injection sight." He paused for a moment but when Remae did not say ahy thing he injected the nanobots into to the captian's neck. "Thank you Doctor, good work - please make sure OPS has a full working understanding of how to track these devices and to lock onto them as required, dismissed," said Remae "I will Captian but thank Ensign Angeletti and Lt. I've just come from a meeting with the Captain. He asked me to see you for information about what preparations you'll be needing for the shuttles." "I am sure I will hear all about this when I meet with the Captain shortly, I'm on my way there now", said T'Vhor. He sounded confused and even slightly annoyed at being held up. The moment the doors had opened to the bridge however, T'Vhor could see that the bridge crew were busy with whatever it was that was now occuring. "Now", said the Captain leaning forwards in his chair as he spoke. "Beam the shuttle aboard & recloak", he added. The FO approached the CO & imediately took the chair to his right, taking the time to survey the status panel in the arm of the chair as he did so. The Captain then addressed the Ops Station with just a hint of worry in his voice as he spoke. "Were we detected?" he said. It was clear they were about to beam over a visitor. "Grant?" said the Caitian CPO. Grant, though her superior by rank, knew full well, that M'Rurrh wasd his superior in both time served and knowledge, and respected that above all else. He also feared her, as she could be rather intimidating, at least in his eyes. "Everything is in order Chief. Cloaking device is ready to be dropped. I am also activating a timing system, the cloaking device will automatically reingage after 4 second." Grant replied. "Excellent." She tapped her commbadge, "Engineering to Bridge, we're ready, sir." Whilst awaiting the Captain's order, CPO M'Rurrh made her way down to the cloaking device section where Grant was waiting at the panel of which he spent most of his day. "Nervous, Ensign?" "You could say that Chief, one little error, we could be sitting ducks or spotted. But other then that I am fine. This isn't exactly my first rodeo monitoring the Spectre's cloaking device, however this is my first one in which I need to make sure it reingages in four seconds" Grant replied. Eventually the order came through from the Bridge, and the Spectre dropped her cloak. She noticed a few of the crew squinting against the regular lights as the Spectre dropped from Blue Alert for the first time in more than a day. The two of them had been working for over two hours to get the support craft ready for the mission ahead. Under normal circumstances, with the Spectre fresh out of refit, there'd be no need to worry about fine-tuning the shuttles, but these were far from ordinary circumstances and both officers wanted to ensure the away teams would be returning in one piece. An image flashed through H'Chir's mind. A gargantuan amalgam of several of the senior staff, individual features visible as they emerged from the shuttle. ~Well. Maybe not one piece.~ "I guess you'd better get down to Engineering. We've made good progress here, and it shouldn't take too much more to finish the job later. Besides, there's no telling what's gone wrong now." (Reply Angeletti) The two engineers left their tools on the deck of the shuttlebay and exited the room, parting ways immediately as they headed for their separate destinations. (USS Spectre, Bridge - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 1835) H'Chir arrived on the Bridge, and immediately noticed the uncertain looks on the faces of several of the senior staff. Whatever was going on, it was clear that the Captain was waiting for the last arrivals before giving them all the information. He moved to the Engineering station, nodding a greeting to the officer stationed there, and ran his eye over the read-outs. ~Nothing wrong with the cloak.~ As he moved away he spotted an equally bemused friendly face and whispered, "Any idea what this is about?" Sharien headed for the bridge to start his new job (Posted by Will C ) (USS Spectre, Main Engineering - CEO, Ensign H'Chir - 1905) It didn't feel like all that long since he'd returned to Engineering from the Bridge. He's intended just a short stay, long enough to check in with M'Rurrh and move back to the Shuttlebay, but as per usual the paperwork had caught up with him. An arrhythmia in the warp flow regulators had begged his attention. He'd finally gained two seconds behind his desk to call up the specs on the new shuttle, the latest gift to fall into their collective lap from the admiralty, when he felt a presence in the doorway. ~Vulcanoid.~ he thought, and was rewarded to hear the First Officer announce his presence: "Mr H'Chir," the Andorian looked up as the senior officer continued, "I was wondering if you could give me an update on the shuttle preparations. As you know, the CO wants them to go at 0300hrs." Pleased to have some good news for a change, the engineer tried out a smile. "They're done," he said, "One or two minor tweaks but both the Evangeline and the Don Quixote will be ready for launch within the hour. Provided you don't want any unusual equipment installed, or cargo beyond the usual limitations." "Very good. Let me know the moment they are ready to go," said T'Vhor. "Aye, sir." The First Officer turned to leave and H'Chir allowed his attention to stray back to the schematics of the modified personnel shuttle. "Have you had time to speak to Ensign Angeletti at all?" The unusual question caught him off-guard to the point that H'Chir nearly answered that of course he'd spoken with his assistant, before realising what the First Officer must have meant. "No, sir. She's not asked me anything relating to her investigations and I haven't wanted to intrude on that side of things. She can handle this without me." A frown seemed to pass across the Vulcan's brow and H'Chir almost felt the need to explain further, but then the FO said, "I will speak to her shortly anyway. I need her update in order to report to the Captain." With those final words he turned and left. H'Chir paused, wondering not for the first time whether he should intervene. (Reply any, none) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - First Officer T'Vhor - 1950) It had been a long shift, that was for sure. The First Officer being a logical & fairly indefatigable officer had taken it pretty much in his stride but even he needed to relax once in a while. On this particular occasion, it was Ten forward that had beckoned him on, his need for quiet & sustenence foremost in his mind now as he entered the fairly sparsely occupied bar. ~Strange, I expected more people to be here now~ Standing at the bar however, it took only a few seconds for the seemingly ever present barkeep to see him & approach. It was almost as though she slept here, T'Vhor wasn't even sure if she had her own quarters. "What can I get you my pointy eared friend", said the woman with her usual calm candor. T'Vhor raised an eyebrow at her remark, it wasn't that he ever found remarks like that offensive, he never did. It was her usual manner anyway, kind of playful, she always addressed him as such. In fact it was pleasantly familiar. "I am of the frame of mind to try something a little different tonight", said the FO. "What do you suggest?" The barkeep smiled & leant her arms upon the bar, leaning towards the FO as she did so. "Women, war or family?" she said.... The FO looked puzzled at her remark. "I'm not sure what you mean", said T'Vhor. The barkeep stood up straight & looked to the optics behind her. "In my experience, a man with the look & mannerism you are now displaying.....No, I'll rephrase that, Telegraphing", said the woman, "It's usually a woman, a war or family troubles that's causing it", she added. T'Vhor allowed himself the slightest of smiles as she spoke, she was part right on all counts in a way, each element of her argument having validity somewhere along the lines. "What drink would you suggest for all three?" said the FO. The barkeep wasted no time & went straight for the whiskey, part filling one glass neat as she did so. "Here ya go", she said, "that'll sort you out" The FO smiled again & left to walk towards his favourite seat next to one of the observation windows, he then sat & contemplated what was soon to come. (Reply Any, None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - Lt. JG Banowsky - 2000) Will walked in to ten forward at precisely 20:00 hours as was his normal routine around this time. Everday at 20:00 hours when he had a good 30 minute break between doing paperwork and then bridge duty he always stopped by for a little snack and something to drink. It was just his way. Will was a rather conservative man and he rarely broke his routine. He was a little worried about the upcoming mission. He wasn't going to be put in harms way, but he would be in command of the entire spectre, while the captain and first officer where in harms way. However, still he had a slight fear of screwing up which was only natural. Walking up to the bar he asked for the usual, a nice glass of cold choclate milk. Something he was always fond of growin up. He always had them on his 20:00 hour trip to ten-forward, and it always seemed to relax. Kind of like an escape from reality to the days of youth. Days he wish he was still living. He wasn't a child anymore. He was 26, and as soon as Stardate 2407.04.26 came around he would be 27. Growing closer and closer to his old age. When will was 19, a sophomore in college, before he went to the academy, he thought he would be married with a family at this point. He had two chances, two great loves. The one he let get away, and the one that thankfully did. ONe he left when he went to the academy because he didn't want her to feel alone or grief when he had to live the starfleet live. The other left him because she didnt want to feel that. Same reasons, but coming from a different source. Though Will would not change his time in starfleet for anything. He rather enjoyed it, and it was his life now. After getting his glass of chocalte milk, he looked for a table. Ten Forward was rather sparse, so there were plenty of tables open. However, one caught his eye, it was Lt. T'Vhor the first officer. Observing that he looked rather down, though Will sometimes observed things that weren't there, Will walked over to him. "Good evening sir, mind if I join you," Will said politely. (Reply T'Vhor) Pulling out a chair Will sat down. "Great view huh, that's one thing I have always loved about traveling in space, is just the view of the stars, kind of a calming effect, at least in my opinion." (Reply T'Vhor) Smiling and building confidence will then spoke hoping to see if there was something he could do for the FO. "Excuse me sir, I know it is none of my business but may I ask what is troubling you?" (Reply T'Vhor) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - First Officer T'Vhor - 2002) The FO had now drunk the entire glass of whisky that he'd brought with him, it's effects clearly being felt now in his head as he'd done so. It was a good job that this was only synthehol that was for sure, the FO knew that within seconds if he needed all of his faculties, they would return intact irrespective of the effects he felt now. "Good evening sir, mind if I join you", said the sudden & unmistakable voice of the second officer. The FO turned surprised at the 20's arrival, he hadn't even heard his approach, he gestured however to the 20 to take a seat as requested. "Of course not", said T'Vhor, "take a seat Will" Banowsky then sat opposite him to join him in his reverie of gazing out into space. "Great view huh, that's one thing I have always loved about traveling in space, just the view of the stars, kind of a calming effect, at least in my opinion," said Will. The FO nodded agreeably at Wills observation. "Calming, yes... It does have that effect", he said. "Although the presence of half of Admiral Doenitz's fleet does tend to marr the effect somewhat", he added. Banowsky simply nodded as he gazed out at the ships that could be seen circling in the distance. "Excuse me sir, I know it is none of my business but may I ask what is troubling you?" said the second officer rather unexpectedly. "Troubling me Will?" said T'Vhor. "Nothing in particular & perhaps everything", said T'Vhor in a curiously uncharacteristic manner. The duality of the First Officers background was often a dificult thing to bear, the cold logic of a Vulcan & the passion of a Betazoid, sometimes they clashed to produce such thoughts as those he had just voiced to his second. "Our current situation is far from easy Will", said the FO continuing on. "We have two away missions into highly dangerous areas, I still have concerns about the Captain insisting on being a part of the Betazed mission & with myself off ship also, the situation is compounded somewhat", said T'Vhor. (Reply Banowsky, IYW) "I have every confidence in your ability to command the Spectre of course, I know you won't let us down in that duty", said T'Vhor, "I am fearful however as to what will be found on Betazed", he added. (Reply Banowsky) "Time will tell & time tells no lies Will", said the FO returning his gaze to the stars outside the observation window & then down to the surface of Avandar to take note of an electrical storm raging in the northern hemisphere. "I don't agree with the captain either, however, he wont be convinced. I feel it is the nature of the captain to do this. I haven't been on the spectre for that long, only for a couple of months now, but from what I have seen it does not surprise me. Yet somehow I also feel that if Commander Orde where here, perhaps the captain could have possibly been convinced to stay. I can already tell you, that his safety is not the only reason I wish he would be staying on the Spectre. I'm rather nervous myself about my part of the mission." replied Will "I have every confidence in your ability to command the Spectre of course, I know you won't let us down in that duty", said T'Vhor, "I am fearful however as to what will be found on Betazed", he added. "I can not even imagine what will be down there. I was talking to one of our betazoid conn officers, she was rather frightened. Afraid for her family, letting her emotions get the best of her. Not to mention in her paranoid state she was letting her telepathy get the best of her. I had to take her off the duty roster for the time being. I would have scheduled time with Lronen for her, however he is also going to the surface. But I am sure in the end everything will be all right. This isn't the first civil war in history." said Will as he took the last sip of chocalate milk. "Time will tell & time tells no lies Will", said the FO returning his gaze to the stars outside the observation window & then down to the surface of Avandar to take note of an electrical storm raging in the northern hemisphere. "I hope that isn't affecting any of Lieutenant Colonel Kriges ground units", said T'Vhor furrowing his brow slightly at the thought. "As do I, but they are trained for situations such as those, just as we are trained for things up here. I have feeling they will be alright, not because I am a precog, or a telepath, or empath. But rather, and optimistic feeling that everything will be fine. Such is my way." Will looked out the window at the enemy ships. He was glad for the cloaking device. One malfunction would be there end. (Reply T'Vhor) "Yeah, its funny, when I was younger I never imagined my life as such." Will replied, in an attempt to change the subject. (Reply T'Vhor) "I envisioned myself a lawyer, living on earth, married, with kids by now. Not in starfleet, not in the middle of some civil war. Then when I entered the academy, I still thought I might be married by now, and galavanting across the galaxies, discovering new worlds, new civilizations, like the crew of the Enterprises. Instead, I have been on 3 ships since I have been in starfleet. I joined the Cochrane the day before it was decommisioned, then a day on the Mystique, then the Spectre. I have had my body switched, haven't talked to my family on earth in awhile. I havent hadd a date since my graduation from the academy but that really is no big deal. Things in life are strange." Will said, kind of sharing something with his FO, whom he thought he could trust. He didn't have a real close friend on the Spectre, not since Garry dissapeared. He thought he could trust T'Vhor, well it was worth a shot anyways. (Reply T'Vhor) "Did I mention I could have potentially been married twice." (Reply T'Vhor) "Ya, broke off one engagement when I went ot the academy. I loved her so much I didn't want to get her involved in the life of having a starfleet husband. The sad thing was she was willing to sacrifice everything for me. I didn't want her to do that. So I left her, in perhaps the biggest mistake of my life. Well other the dating my next potential wife. Met her my third year of the academy. Had finally decided to start dating again. Would have been with anyone. She was selfish and rude, and I was blind to that. Before my graduation I proposed. She declined, she wasn't going to give up everything. So it was funny that both ended for the same reason, just different source. The second ended up getting married to the person she was cheating on me with while they were together. Didn't find that out til I met with my brothers during the Spectre refit. The first, I don't know what happened to her. But I have always found that it is easier to forget the past, if you don't bring it up. You are actually the first person on the Spectre, that I have told this to. But I figure if there is a chance we might die, a slim one at best, it would be good to share my story." (Reply T'Vhor) "How bout you, how did you envision your life when you were younger?" (Reply T'Vhor) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - First Officer T'Vhor - 2010) "I hope that isn't affecting any of Lieutenant Colonel Kriges ground units", said T'Vhor furrowing his brow slightly at the thought. The Second Officer intoned that they would probably be fine, it was what they were trained for after all exactly as he had said. "I'm sure you are correct", said T'Vhor, things have a way of working themselves out for the better in the end, regardless of how difficult they can be at the time", he added. "Yeah, its funny, when I was younger I never imagined my life as such," said Will. The FO had to agree with that, life was unpredictable at best. The 20 then went on to explain a little of his life before starfleet. "I envisioned myself a lawyer", he began, "living on earth, married, with kids by now. Not in starfleet, not in the middle of some civil war", said Will, moving on then to his hopes & dreams concerning his career in StarFleet & the academy beforehand. "Things in life are strange", said Will looking pensive. "They are indeed", said the FO, sencing as he did so the obvious need in the Second officer to talk to someone about his lifes experiences. This of course was not a bad thing, it was good that fellow officers could share their experiences & he senced in his 20 that all he really needed was someone to listen to him. "Did I mention I could have potentially been married twice," said Will continuing on. "I don't believe you did Will", said T'Vhor who then listened intently as the man relayed his relationship details in vivid detail, his loves & conquests, his personal sacrifices etc etc. "The sad thing was she was willing to sacrifice everything for me", said Will of the woman he had once loved. "I didn't want her to do that so I left her in perhaps the biggest mistake of my life", he added. The second officers words had touched something there in the FO as he spoke them, memories of his own wife Krysta came rushing back & for a moment, T'Vhor was lost within them. He almost didn't hear him when he began to talk more of his past & how he'd met another & been subsequently quite badly hurt. Apparently the woman had been selfish & spiteful but Will had been blind to it all due to his obvious need for love. It was clear that the man was more sensitive than he had ever let on & the FO was kind of honoured that he should pick him to relay all this to now. "You are actually the first person on the Spectre, that I have told this to", said Will. "But I figure if there is a chance we might die, a slim one at best, it would be good to share my story," he added. The FO nodded to concur, he could see the logic in that, he'd seen it before in others before a battle, that need to pass on an experience to a comrade in case something did not go to plan, that way those experiences would live on even if those that had expereinced them did not. "I am honoured that you speak so freely with me Will", said T'Vhor, "the teachings of Surak tell us that we should control our emotions at all cost, but to do so, we must first face them & come to terms with them", he added. "Sharing them is a good way to face them", said T'Vhor returning his gaze briefly to the observation window once again. "How bout you, how did you envision your life when you were younger?" said Banowsky. T'Vhor took a deep breath & thought about that one before finally answering. "My life was not an easy life", he began, "as a child I saw much hardship & many battles on the fields of Bajor, the Cardassian incursions were quick & ruthless, many died, it was a job just to stay alive", said T'Vhor reminiscing. (Reply Banowsky) "My mother was killed sometime after I joined the resistance, it is something I will never forget, starfleet gave me the tool I needed to continue in my life at a time when I least expected to live another day", said the FO falling silent just for a few moments. "I too had a wife at one time", said T'Vhor, "almost a child too", he added. (Reply Banowsky) "My son died in childbirth, my wife the same time", said the FO the pain visible in his face as he spoke of them. "Your question as to how I envisaged my life when I was younger however is a difficult question to answer", said T'Vhor, "In someway's it has turned out as I expected, in others it has not", he added. "My future however is not set in stone as is your's neither", said T'Vhor, "each of us has the power to participate in the shaping of our time here, each of us have two choices, we either do or we do not, logic dictates that there is no inbetween", he added. (Reply Banowsky) "Your own fate is not set Will, it is not yet written, you alone have the power to write it", said the FO, "but I digress, I am afraid I must leave here now", he added moving to stand. "I have duties to attend to....perhaps we can speak of this at another time?" said T'Vhor. (Reply Banowsky) The FO then walked off leaving Will to what remained of his food & the view of the starfield outside. As he walked however, he felt that something had passed between himself & his fellow officer. An understanding, the beginings of a good friendship perhaps. Time would of course tell, as it invariably does....... (Reply Banowsky, Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - Lt. JG Banowsky - 2015) "My life was not an easy life", he began, "as a child I saw much hardship & many battles on the fields of Bajor, the Cardassian incursions were quick & ruthless, many died, it was a job just to stay alive", said T'Vhor reminiscing. "I can imagine. But that is all I can do. Until now I have never seen war personally, at least not as a combatant. So I would not know what that is like. Though again I can imagine it would be rather tough." Will replied. He knew some of the crew had difficult pasts, but to see battles as a child was something else. "My mother was killed sometime after I joined the resistance, it is something I will never forget, starfleet gave me the tool I needed to continue in my life at a time when I least expected to live another day", said the FO falling silent just for a few moments. "I too had a wife at one time", said T'Vhor, "almost a child too", he added. "What happened?" Will asked respectfully, sensing this was a touchy subject. "My son died in childbirth, my wife the same time", said the FO the pain visible in his face as he spoke of them. "You know some humanbs critize vulcan logic, I have learned to rather embrace it, at certain times. Because you are right, there is no in between. The choices we make, make us who we are. And there will always be choices to make." Will added. "Your own fate is not set Will, it is not yet written, you alone have the power to write it", said the FO, "but I digress, I am afraid I must leave here now", he added moving to stand. "I have duties to attend to....perhaps we can speak of this at another time?" said T'Vhor. "Yes, another time, perhaps one with a not so urgent setting. I also need to finish up and head to the bridge." Will replied as he FO then walked off leaving Will. Will rather enjoyed his conversation with T'Vhor. It was good to develop friendships, especially in times of war. It also gave him a better understanding of who T'Vhor was, and is. For Will that was priceless, for in his mind it was easier to follow the orders and lead of someone who you understand, and trust. Will sat silently for a couple of minutes, staring of into space before he then stood up and headed to the bridge. (Reply none, any) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Corridor - Lt. JG Will Banowsky - 2030) Will had exited Ten-Forward after a nice snack and break. He was no ready to shift gears from paperwork to Bridge work. Will enjoyed some of the work he did in his office, but he was most at home on the bridge. It was there that he felt he belonged most. It was also there that he would be spending the majority of his time on this up coming mission, seeing as how he would be in command while Captain Remae, and Lt. T'Vhor would be on the away mission. He had come to terms with his jitters, and was now looking forward to this task. It was just another task for him to prove himself. As he started walking down the corridor he began to think about the officers who would be left onboard. It would be himself, H'Chir, Doc Williams, the new tactical chief whom he did not have the time to meet with personally, there was the ACSO, as well as H'Chir's assistant Ensign Angelletti. Howeer having the FO, CO, and Commander Tahlmari on the planets surface, was rather unsettling. The three highest ranking officers on the ship away, as well with the sabateur on board, meant things could turn dangerous. Will was debating having the ship on constant yellow alert while the away team was gone, as well as upping security around key areas, such as engineering and the bridge, and restricting access to the cloaking device and its controls to a select few. He was also thinking of having a staff meeting with the remaining senior staff as well. After awhile of walking and thinking, Will approached the turbolift and entered. (USS Spectre, Turbolift - Lt. JG Banowsky - 2032) "Bridge" he said as he situated himself in the turbolift. His mind shifted from his upcoming tasks, to rather himself. He had this feeling that everything was going to be ok. Will was an optimist, and that always made him feel rather confidant about his survivability, and his ability to suceed at a task. However, he was going to make some changes after the mission. Life was to short. And during his tenure on the Spectre, his personal time was spent in his office. It was time to restart his personal life. He attempted to have a poker game once before, and that went rather well. However he had grander plans. Starting a on ship intramural sport league, to help boost morale and teamwork. There were also other things he wanted to do, but his mind shifted back to work when the turbolift stopped at the bridge. (USS Spectre, Bridge - Lt. JG Banowsky - 2035) Will exited the bridge and headed to the CONN were he relieved the officer there. As he sat down, he thoguht about how he was going to have to set the secondary OPS station on the bridge to the primary OPS station, and de-compine the conn station from being a CONN/OPS station to help facilitate the fact that there was a new OPS chief. Will was rather glad that the captain had appointed a new OPS chief rather then CONN. He didn't want to have that taken from him. He rather enjoyed piloting the Spectre. Will then smiled as he looked at the view screen. There were enemy ships around, but he didn't mind. The fear of failure was much weaker now. That and he was thinking about all the things he would do after the mission was a success. (Reply any, none) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - First Officer T'Vhor - 2050) "It's all there sir", said the First Officer as he handed the PADD to the Captain. "Mission details, offensive capabilities as we know them via updated intelligence, contingencies, crew manifests....all checked & re-checked", he added. (Reply CO) "It's the best we've got, the shuttles have been prepared as requested, H'Chir has assured me of their operational readiness & has programmed the fake ident codes into the registry transmission modules", said T'Vhor. "My plan is to take the Evangeline into a known supply flight path & obtain clearance to dock on the USS Palomino whilst your team heads for Betazed", he added. (Reply CO) "The Palomino is a research science vessel sir, adapted for close planetry recon work & as such is not one of the Admirals big guns so to speak, security will be tight but not as tight as on one of the Sovereigns", said T'Vhor. "I will have little trouble circumventing the Palomino's security, this is nothing new to me", he added. (Reply CO) "It's the logical choice sir", said T'Vhor, "there may also be a chance that I might obtain detailed surface scan data of the current situation on Betazed", he added as the Captain continued to peruse the plans on the PADD. (Reply CO) T'Vhor then stood silent as the Captain considered things further. Then all of a sudden, the FO experienced something definately untoward. A voice in his head, it had hurt him slightly. It had said only one word but it had been clear as day. The word was go...... The CO looked up briefly at T'Vhor as he closed his eyes for a few seconds in apparent discomfort. (Reply CO) "It's nothing sir", said T'Vhor, dismissing the voice but remaining slightly concerned at the same time. He had never felt a word spoken so forcefully as this, the one thing that was almost certain however was that this voice was telepathic & not imagined. ~Where did it come from, who's voice was it?~ The FO recomposed himself & returned his attention to his Captain. "I was wondering sir, Lieutenant Banowsky has suggested a.....get together later", said T'Vhor wondering as he said the words wether or not he had chosen them correctly. (Reply CO) "The Lieutenent felt that it might be good for moral, a way to relax before we initiate the two away missions", said T'Vhor. (Reply CO) "Will you be joining us sir?" said T'Vhor hoping that the Captain would acceed to the plan, after all they could all do with a little cheer in their lives at this most stressful of times. (Reply CO) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 2100) Remae was listening to the FO break down the missions, so far, it all made sense and he was happy. "What type of vessel is this?" asked the CO when he looked at the target that FO had selected. "The Palomino is a research science vessel sir, adapted for close planetry recon work & as such is not one of the Admirals big guns so to speak, security will be tight but not as tight as on one of the Sovereigns", said T'Vhor. "I will have little trouble circumventing the Palomino's security, this is nothing new to me", he added. ~ Have to love the confidence ~ "It's the logical choice sir", said T'Vhor, "there may also be a chance that I might obtain detailed surface scan data of the current situation on Betazed." "Very well," said Remae spinning through the plans that had been prepared and he noticed that the Lieutenant was in discomfort. "Are you alright?" the Bajoran asked with concern. "It's nothing sir," said T'Vhor and Remae looked away for a moment, T'Vhor was old enough to know when something was wrong and he went on to mention the get-together later that Will had planned. "Will you be joining us sir?" he asked expectantly. "Maybe for a quick one, we do launch in 6 hours and so far, our resident Marine hasn't drilled us, I wonder what he has planned?" said Remae drifting away. (Reply from T'Vhor) "One more thing, I assume you've not see the message, or request sent by our Counsellor," said Remae and handed the FO the PADD with the request for transfer. (Reply from T'Vhor) "We decloaked for 4 seconds at 18.40, the computer, diligently, sent the message to Starbase Geneva, but Admiral LoDona will not interfere with my ship and crew. Divon is still going on the mission to Betazed, for the rest, we'll have to sort it out later." (Reply from T'Vhor) "Thank you Lieutenant, I will see you for that drink later on, please make sure ALL away team personnel are reminded that they are to assemble as per the mission plans," said Remae as he dismissed the Lieutenant.
